The Story in Bloom
Markina Smith is a multi-media artist whose main focus of study is acrylic paint with elemental subjects found in nature as well as the human form. Having grown up in the southern US, nature is the inspiration as it influences her work, and the world as she perceives it. Along with a spiritual composition, she incorporates her personal beliefs and values. Sketching and traditional illustration is a strong foundation she creates from as it guides each element into a new piece.
Creative flow has been the forte of Markina’s art career as she’s recently been featured in Artist Closeup Magazine #42 and presented works in CCC Black Art Matters (April 2026). Having had finished her graphic design degree at Full Sail University the passion towards the illustrative arts never dwindled. Her calling never faded as she grew up as she knows creativity can heal and reveal the most vulnerable parts of the human experience. Markina’s love for humanity, healing, and connectivity is fully expressed throughout her work as she understands that art comes from a divine place and can be a catalyst for much needed change.
Today, Markina continues to manifest new creations from nature and experiences that have yet to be witnessed. Showcasing her work through many platforms, she expands her work as Divine Design to connect, and express with others who heed the calling to create from a divine space.
Art is a catalyst for so many things and when expressed, the soul is fully witnessed.
